Basic Mustard

Making mustard at home is a cinch–and it has more flavor than store-bought. For a basic mustard, all you do is combine mustard seeds with a liquid. You can start with powdered mustard or whole mustard seeds.

There are 3 types of mustard seeds:
Black – the smallest seeds and contain the most heat and pungency
Brown – slightly larger seeds and a little less heat and pungency
Yellow – the mildest of the three
