Chia-Hemp Lemon Bars

By making your own energy bars, you can get all of the macronutrients and a variety of vitamins and minerals without all of the added sugar and additives.

The basic breakdown:
• cereal grains and dried fruit = carbs
• nuts, seeds, protein powders, and nut butters = fat and protein

These bars are nut-free using these heart-healthy seeds instead:
Chia seeds – packed with omega-3s, omega-6s, protein, calcium, iron, zinc, fiber, and antioxidants.
Hemp seeds – high-quality protein supplement and high concentration of omega fatty acids, which can help prevent heart disease and promote overall health.
